Professor Hans Ruin
PhD in Philosophy from Stockholm University 1994, with the dissertation Enigmatic Origins. Tracing the Theme of Historicity Through Heidegger's Works. Since 1999 employed by Södertörn University College and co-responsible for creating its philosophy department. Main research interests include phenomenology, hermeneutics, Nietzsche, modern French thought and ancient philosophy. Has published the collection Fenomenologiska perspektiv (with A Orlowski, 1997), a commentary to the Heraclitean fragments (with H. Rehnberg, 1997), a jointy edited volume of phenomenological research in the Nordic countries, Metaphysics, Facticity, and Interpretation (with D. Zahavi and S. Heinämaa, 2003), and a commentary to Heidegger's Being and Time, Kommentar till Heideggers varat och tiden (2005), and also numerous articles, essays and book chapters. Co-editor of the Swedish edition of Nietzsche's Collected Works. Member of the board of Nietzsche Studien, Hermeneutische Jahrbuch, and co-editor of Södertörn Philosophical Studies. Member on the board of Nordic Society for Phenomenology. Has translated into Swedish texts by, among others Nietzsche, Husserl, Heidegger, Derrida.

Since the beginning of 2010 he leads the multidisciplinary six-year research program Time, Memory, and Representation - recent developments in historical consciousness. For more information about the program, see webpage: http://www.histcon.se/
